Set the Stage of a To Do

Designate what stage a construction task is in with ConstructionOnline's To Do Lists feature

BACKGROUND

Essential to maintaining timeliness and attention to detail, ConstructionOnline's To Do Lists software provides construction companies with the tools they need to create & manage detailed construction task lists at any time, from any place. To support the high level of detail often needed when managing construction projects, ConstructionOnline™ To Do Lists were designed to store 25+ data points that serve comprehensive project management. One field companies can utilize for their To Do Lists is the Stage field—one of several custom field options allowing companies to designate what stage the task at hand is in. This field is particularly useful for companies seeking to track the timeliness of their task completion and can be utilized to organize & manage tasks in Board View.

VIDEO WALKTHROUGH 

STEPS TO SET THE STAGE OF A TO DO

    1. Navigate to the desired Project via the Left Sidebar.
    2. Select the Project Tracking tab to automatically open the To Do Lists category.
    3. Within the To Dos pane in any View, locate the To Do you wish to set the Stage of.
    4. Right-click on the To Do, and select the "Edit To Do" option. 
    5. This will open the To Do blade extension where you can choose to assign the task's Stage by clicking into the Stage field and selecting the desired option from the dropdown menu.
      1. ConstructionOnline provides four preloaded Stage options: Planning, In Progress, Ready for Review, and Closed. 
      2. The "None" option is selected for this field by default and appears first within the dropdown menu.
        1. Selecting the "None" option leaves the Stage field blank.
      3. Other Stage Units fall below the dotted line and, when selected, immediately populate to the Stage field. 
      4. Stage Units can be customized by clicking the gear icon ⚙️ at the top right corner of the dropdown menu. 
    6. Finalize the newly designated Stage by clicking the blue "Save" button. 
      1. Stage Units will populate within the "Stage" column in List and Group By Views.

    ⭐ Prefer to work spreadsheet-style? To Dos can managed via inline editing on the dynamic tables in List & Group By Views by simply clicking into the desired cell and making your desired modifications. 

     

    ⭐Working in Board View? If you have Stage information shown on your Card Layout, Stage Units can be assigned or modified directly on To Do cards!

    ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

    • Working with To Dos that are not assigned to a Project? All Company To Dos can be accessed from Company Overview > Project Tracking > To Do Lists.
    • The Stage field can be set for both To Dos and Subtasks.
    • Permissions: ConstructionOnline Company Users must have "Can Create, Edit, & Delete" To Do Lists permissions to be able to set or modify To Do details, including Stage. 
      • Additionally, any Company User added as an Assigned Resource to a To Do can manage the To Do's Stage, despite their To Do Lists permissions. 
    • ClientLink™/TeamLink™ Access: In addition to global ClientLink/TeamLink permissions for To Do Lists, ClientLink and TeamLink Users must also be added as an Assigned Resource in order to manage a To Do's Stage field.
    • CO™ Mobile App: The Stage field of To Dos can be modified from the CO Mobile App.
