Provide additional details to a construction tasks in ConstructionOnline™
BACKGROUND
As the industry's leading construction management software provider, ConstructionOnline empowers construction companies with award-winning software solutions for tracking project progress. Part of ConstructionOnline's project tracking toolkit includes its cutting-edge, cloud-based To Do List tool where users can create & manage detailed lists of project tasks. To support a high level of detail, ConstructionOnline offers users a multi-line Notes/Description field within To Dos and Subtasks that can be used to subtitle tasks or add additional information or updates to the task.
STEPS TO ADD NOTES/DESCRIPTION TO A TO DO
- Navigate to the desired Project via the Left Sidebar.
- Select the Project Tracking tab to automatically open the To Do Lists category.
- Within the To Dos pane in any View, locate the To Do you wish to set the Due Date for.
- Right-click on the To Do, and select the "Edit To Do" option.
- This will open the To Do blade extension where you can add or update the To Do's Notes/Description by typing the desired information in the Notes/Description field.
- The Time Stamp button can be used to automatically log the Date, Time, and Author of any additions to the Notes/Description field.
- Finalize your changes made to the To Do's Notes/Description field by clicking the blue "Save" button.
- The new information will appear within the Description column in List and Group By Views, and on the To Do's card in Board View, depending on Card Density settings.
⭐ Prefer to work spreadsheet style? To Do Notes/Description can be managed via inline editing on the dynamic tables in List and Group By Views by clicking into the Description cell and typing your desired details.
⭐ Working in Board View? To Do Notes/Description can be added or updated directly on the card.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
- To streamline text entry, ConstructionOnline provides flexible keyboard shortcuts for entering Subject & Description Text inline on the dynamic tables in List and Group By Views. To learn more about this shortcut, and how to manage it, visit the Edit Subject & Description Text Settings article.
- Working with To Dos that are not assigned to a Project? All Company To Dos can be accessed from Company Overview > Project Tracking > To Do Lists.
- Permissions: ConstructionOnline Company Users must have "Can Create, Edit, & Delete" To Do Lists permissions to be able to add or modify To Do Notes/Description.
- Additionally, any Company User added as an Assigned Resource to a To Do can modify the To Do's Notes/Description field, despite their To Do Lists permissions.
- ClientLink™/TeamLink™ Access: In addition to global ClientLink/TeamLink permissions for To Do Lists, ClientLink and TeamLink Users must also be added as an Assigned Resource in order to modify the To Do Notes/Description field.
- CO™ Mobile App: The Notes/Description field for To Dos can be modified from the CO Mobile App.
