Mark Checklist Items and/or Item Issues as Complete

Manage construction project tasks with ConstructionOnline's cloud-based checklist software

BACKGROUND

As the leading provider of construction management software, ConstructionOnline™ offers construction pros cutting-edge technologies that support their project tracking needs. ConstructionOnline™ Company Users can quickly build and assign tasks and sub-tasks to an unlimited number of subcontractors, suppliers, and any other team members with construction checklists.  

Harnessing cutting-edge technology for cloud- and mobile-based systems, construction companies and their team members can then track their task list progress with the click of a button by marking Items and/or Item Issues as "Complete".

PREREQUISITES 

  • Checklist Items serve as "parents" to Item Issues. By marking an Item as "Complete," you will be prompted to confirm that this also marks all of the Item's Issues as "Complete" as well. 
    • Similarly, when marking an Issue that has been "Completed" as "Incomplete," you will be prompted to confirm that this also marks the parent Item as "Incomplete" as well. 

STEPS TO MARK CHECKLIST ITEMS AND/OR ITEM ISSUES AS COMPLETE 

  1. Navigate to the desired Project via the Left Sidebar.
  2. Select the Project Tracking tab and choose the Checklists category.
  3. Click on the desired Checklist to open it.
    1. If the list is stored within a Folder, drill down to the specific list by clicking on & opening the relevant Folder(s). 
  4. Within the desired list, mark the check box ☑️ next to the Item and/or Item Issue you wish to mark as "Complete". 
    1. If choosing to mark an Item with incomplete Issues as "Complete," confirm that by marking an Item as "Complete" you will also be marking its respective Issues as "Complete" by clicking the "Continue" button.

  5. Items and Item Issues that have been marked as "Complete" will have a blue checkmark. 
    1. Items & Item Issues that have been marked as "Complete" can be unmarked at any time by clicking the check box ☑️ next to the Item or Item Issue you wish to unmark. 
      1. Choosing to mark a "Completed" Issue within a "Completed" Item as "Incomplete" will prompt you to confirm that by marking this Issue as "Incomplete" you understand you will also be marking the Item as "Incomplete".

BEST USE

Construction projects are notorious for requiring communication and coordination across a variety of team members. 

For any members of your Project Team (including Company EmployeesClientLink™ Users, and/or TeamLink™ Users) that need to be able to track project progress through ConstructionOnline™ Checklists, consider the following permissions options: 

  • Assign team members who need to see and edit every Item on the list, and edit the list itself, as a Checklist Editor during list creation or modification 
    • Checklist Editors have full access to the list at hand, which includes the ability to mark Items and Item Issues as "Complete" 
  • Assign team members who need to view and edit Items (and their respective Issues) as an Assigned Resource to specific Items during creation or modification 
    • Assigned Resources have limited access to the list at hand, and can only mark Items and Item Issues as "Complete" if they have been added as an Assigned Resource to that Item 

ALTERNATIVE ACCESS

Item Issues can be marked as "Complete" from the Item Issues tab by following these steps: 

  • Navigate to the desired Project via the Left Sidebar.
  • Select the Project Tracking tab and choose the Checklists category.
  • Click on the desired Checklist to open it.
    • If the list is stored within a Folder, drill down to the specific list by clicking on & opening the relevant Folder(s). 
  • Select the Item Issues tab in the top right corner of the Checklists pane.

  • Within the Item Issues tab, mark the check box ☑️ next to the Item Issue you wish to mark as "Complete". 
    • "Completed" Item Issues will be signified by a blue check mark and can be viewed from both the Item Issues and Checklists views.

TIPS & TRICKS

Looking to mark several Items or Item Issues as "Complete" or "Incomplete" at once? Save time by using ConstructionOnline's multi-select feature, which allows you to perform bulk-actions on multiple Checklist Items or Item Issues at one time. 

  • To enable multi-select, hold down the Ctrl/Command key on your keyboard. Please use the Ctrl key if using a Windows device and the Command key for a macOS device. 
  • Click on the desired Checklist Items or Item Issues you would like to mark as "Complete" or "Incomplete". Each Item or Item Issue you select will appear highlighted in either blue or dark grey, depending on your display settings. 
  • Release the Ctrl/Command key, then right-click on any selected Item or Item Issue and select "Mark Complete" or "Mark Incomplete" based on your desired action. 
  • "Completed" Items & Item Issues will be signified by a blue check mark. "Incomplete" Items & Item Issues will be signified by an empty checkbox. 

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION 

  • More information on Checklist views can be found in the Understanding Checklist Views article
  • Permissions: ConstructionOnline™ Company Users must have Checklist permissions set to "Can Create, Edit, & Delete" to mark Items & Item Issues as "Complete". 
    • ClientLink™ and TeamLink™ Users with Checklist permissions enabled can 
      mark Items & Item Issues as "Complete" for:
      • Checklists in which they have been assigned as a Checklist "Editor"
      • Items—and their respective Issues—in which they have been added as an "Assigned Resource"
  • Mobile App: Items & Item Issues can be marked as "Complete" from the CO™ Mobile App.
