Add a Trade to a To Do

Assign Trade labels to construction tasks in ConstructionOnline's To Do Lists feature

BACKGROUND

Within ConstructionOnline's industry's leading construction management software, construction pros are provided with intuitive construction task list tools they can integrate into their overall project management process. By giving construction teams convenient online access to create, manage, and complete task lists, construction companies are guaranteed to improve team communication and streamline project efficiency. To promote the highest level of detail, ConstructionOnline's modernization of the task list—known in the platform as To Do Lists—has flexible options for adding all of the necessary information and data related to construction tasks into ConstructionOnline™, including the ability to assign preloaded or custom Trade labels to individual tasks.

VIDEO WALKTHROUGH 

STEPS TO ATTACH A TRADE TO A TO DO

    1. Navigate to the desired Project via the Left Sidebar.
    2. Select the Project Tracking tab to automatically open the To Do Lists category.
    3. Within the To Dos pane in any View, locate the To Do you wish to assign a Trade to.
    4. Right-click on the To Do, and select the "Edit To Do" option. 
    5. This will open the To Do blade extension where you can choose to assign a Trade Unit by clicking into the Trade field and selecting the desired option from the dropdown menu.
      1. ConstructionOnline provides six preloaded Trade options: Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, HVAC, Underground Utilities, and Drywall. 
      2. The "None" option is selected for this field by default and appears first within the dropdown menu.
        1. Selecting the "None" option leaves the Trade field blank.
      3. Other Trade Units fall below the dotted line and, when selected, immediately populate to the Trade field. 
      4. Trade Units can be customized by clicking the gear icon ⚙️ at the top right corner of the dropdown menu. 
    6. Finalize the new Trade by clicking the blue "Save" button. 
      1. Trade Units will populate within the "Trade" column in List and Group By Views. 

    ⭐ Prefer to work spreadsheet-style? To Dos can managed via inline editing on the dynamic tables in List & Group By Views by simply clicking into the desired cell and making your desired modifications. 

    ⭐Working in Board View? If you have Trade information shown on your Card Layout, Trade Units can be assigned or modified directly on To Do cards!

    ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

    • Working with To Dos that are not assigned to a Project? All Company To Dos can be accessed from Company Overview > Project Tracking > To Do Lists.
    • Trade Units can be assigned to both To Dos and Subtasks.
    • Permissions: ConstructionOnline Company Users must have "Can Create, Edit, & Delete" To Do Lists permissions to be able to set or modify To Do details, including Trade. 
      • Additionally, any Company User added as an Assigned Resource to a To Do can manage the To Do's Trade, despite their To Do Lists permissions. 
    • ClientLink™/TeamLink™ Access: In addition to global ClientLink/TeamLink permissions for To Do Lists, ClientLink and TeamLink Users must also be added as an Assigned Resource in order to manage a To Do's Trade field.
    • CO™ Mobile App: The Trade field of To Dos can be modified from the CO Mobile App.
