Attach Tags to a To Do

Build an additional level of detail into your construction task lists by adding custom Tags to tasks and subtasks

BACKGROUND

One way ConstructionOnline™ provides construction companies with unparalleled flexibility in their construction management software is through its custom field options. Custom fields allow companies to define the values that appear within certain fields so that they fit their specific needs, especially as it pertains to the type of work they do, the clients they serve, and how they organize their data. One custom field available within ConstructionOnline is the Tag field, which acts as a custom label that can be applied across a company's ConstructionOnline account to provide additional context and enhance organization. Within To Do Lists, Tags can be attached to both tasks and subtasks to further streamline the categorization, organization, and management of project details.

VIDEO WALKTHROUGH

STEPS TO ATTACH TAGS TO A TO DO

  1. Navigate to the desired Project via the Left Sidebar.
  2. Select the Project Tracking tab to automatically open the To Do Lists category.
  3. Within the To Dos pane in any View, locate the To Do you wish to add a Tag to.
  4. Right-click on the To Do, and select the "Edit To Do" option. 
  5. This will open the To Do blade extension where you can choose to assign Tags by clicking into the Tags field and selecting the desired label.
    1. ConstructionOnline provides four preloaded Tag options: Residential, Bonded, Commercial, and HVAC.
    2. No Tags are selected by default. 
    3. Multiple Tags can be applied to a To Do.
    4. Tags can be customized by clicking the gear icon ⚙️ at the top right corner of the field.
  6. Finalize the newly applied Tags by clicking the blue "Save" button. 
    1. Tags will populate within the "Tag" column in List and Group By Views. 

⭐ Prefer to work spreadsheet-style? To Dos can managed via inline editing on the dynamic tables in List & Group By Views by simply clicking into the desired cell and making your desired modifications. 

 

⭐Working in Board View? If you have Tag information shown on your Card Layout, Tags can be assigned or modified directly on To Do cards!

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

  • Working with To Dos that are not assigned to a Project? All Company To Dos can be accessed from Company Overview > Project Tracking > To Do Lists.
  • Tags can be set for both To Dos and Subtasks.
  • Permissions: ConstructionOnline Company Users must have "Can Create, Edit, & Delete" To Do Lists permissions to be able to set or modify To Do details, including Tags. 
    • Additionally, any Company User added as an Assigned Resource to a To Do can manage the To Do's Tags, despite their To Do Lists permissions. 
  • ClientLink™/TeamLink™ Access: ClientLink and TeamLink Users cannot add or modify a To Do's Tags.
  • CO™ Mobile App: To Do Tags can be modified from the CO Mobile App.
