Understanding Tags in ConstructionOnline

Utilize ConstructionOnline's custom label solution to provide additional context and enhance organization across projects and company accounts

Expertly engineered to support construction companies with integrated, cloud-based project management tools, ConstructionOnline™ offers a robust platform for efficiently managing all aspects of construction projects. In addition to providing a comprehensive suite of features that can be used throughout the entire project process—from lead acquisition to project closeout—ConstructionOnline continuously seeks ways to incorporate trackable data points that construction teams can use to gain valuable insights, streamline processes, and improve their overall project management efficiency. One of these data points provided to ConstructionOnline Users is Tags—unique custom labels that can be applied across a company's ConstructionOnline account to provide additional context and enhance organization.

Similar to other custom fields in ConstructionOnline, Tags can be tailored to meet the needs of each construction company. Additionally, companies can customize the color of Tags to serve as a visual indicator for the customized settings. ConstructionOnline provides four preloaded Tag options—Residential, Bonded, Commercial, and HVAC—but companies have the ability to add an unlimited number of Tags within their account. 

While currently available within Company Projects, the Companies Contact feature, Insurance & Certificate Tracking, To Do Lists, Permit Tracking, and OnPlan™ Scheduling, roadmap projections indicate Tags will continue to be implemented across ConstructionOnline as appropriate to improve the ability for companies to holistically track and manage crucial components of their construction projects.

Tag labels can be customized by clicking the gear icon ⚙️ next to any Tags field. Within the "Tags" window, new Tags can be added and existing Tags can be edited, deleted, or rearranged. Additionally, the colors assigned to Tags can be modified. 

Some additional information to note: 

🏷️ Tags are managed on a per Company basis. Any edits made to the Tags list are applied for all Company Users. 

🏷️ The Default Tags list can be restored at any point by choosing the "Restore Defaults" option. This option only appears if you have made any changes to the preloaded Tag options.

🏷️ Any ConstructionOnline Company User can manage custom fields, including Tags. 

🏷️ ClientLink and TeamLink Users cannot manage Tags.

🏷️ Managing Tags is exclusively available via browser access to ConstructionOnline.
