Move a Checklist

Transfer a construction checklist to a checklist folder or to another project in ConstructionOnline™


A feature of ConstructionOnline’s impressive Project Tracking tools, Checklists allow Company Employees to create focused lists of project tasks at any point during a project’s life cycle.

Within each construction checklist, ConstructionOnline™ Company Users can easily create and assign tasks & sub-tasks to an unlimited number of subcontractors, suppliers, and any other team members. 

ConstructionOnline's flexible checklist software also provides users with streamlined methods for managing construction task lists after creation, like moving an existing checklist to another existing folder or from one project to another.

  1. Navigate to the desired Project via the Left Sidebar.
  2. Select the Project Tracking tab, then choose the Checklists category. 
  3. Locate the specific Checklist you wish to move.
    1. If the Checklist is stored within a Folder, drill down to the specific list by clicking on & opening the relevant Folder(s). 
  4. Right-click on the desired Checklist, and select the "Move Checklist" option from the dropdown menu. 
  5. Within the Move Checklist window, determine where the Checklist should be sent:
    1. Choose Project: Select a Project or Project Template to send the Checklist to
      1. The current Project is selected by default.
    2. Choose Destination: Select an existing Checklist Folder to send the Checklist to
      1. If the Project or Project Template does not contain any Checklist Folders, you will not be able to select a specific destination.
  6. Click the blue "Move" button to send the Checklist to the selected Project and/or Folder. 

❗ Please note that moving a Checklist does not create a copy of the selected Checklist. Once a Checklist has been moved to a different Project, ConstructionOnline™ will remove the Checklist from the original Project.

  • Checklist Folders can also be moved from one Project to another by selecting the "Move Folder" option. 
  • Permissions: To move a Checklist, ConstructionOnline™ Company Users must have Checklist permissions set as "Can Create, Edit, & Delete".
  • ClientLink/TeamLink Access: ClientLink™ and TeamLink™ Users cannot move Checklists; however, depending on their Checklists permissions and assigned roles, they may be able to: 
    • See Checklists they're assigned as a Viewer on
    • Make changes to Checklists they're assigned as an Editor on
    • Make changes to Checklist Items they're an Assigned Resource on
  • Mobile App: Checklists cannot be moved using the CO™ Mobile App.
