Duplicate a Checklist

ConstructionOnline's user-friendly project tracking software provides construction pros with effective ways to create, organize, and manage detailed, online project task lists.

With ConstructionOnline's Checklist tool, construction companies can compile & track all of the items that need to be addressed during any phase of their projects through secure, cloud-based task lists. 

To streamline the creation process of project checklists, ConstructionOnline™ provides users with easy-to-use "Duplicate" options that allow them to repurpose the lists of tasks and sub-tasks they use for every project.

  1. Navigate to the desired Project via the Left Sidebar.
  2. Select the Project Tracking tab and choose the Checklists category.
  3. Find the existing Checklist you wish to duplicate. 
    1. If the list is stored within a Folder, drill down to the specific list by clicking on & opening the relevant Folder(s). 
  4. Right-click on the desired list and choose "Duplicate Checklist" from the dropdown menu. 
  5. Within the Duplicate Checklist window, update any of the details that may need to be different for the duplicated list with consideration to the following conditions:
    1. The Checklist Name will populate exactly the same as the original list by default, but is modifiable. 
    2. ConstructionOnline™ will keep the duplicated list within the current Project by default. 
      1. Choose to duplicate the Checklist to any active Project or Project Template through the "Choose Project" dropdown menu. 
    3. ConstructionOnline™ will keep the duplicated list within the current Folder, if applicable. 
      1. Choose to duplicate the Checklist into any existing Folder through the "Choose Destination" dropdown menu. 
    4. By default, ConstructionOnline™ will keep all of the existing components of the Checklist when duplicating. Uncheck the ☑️ check box next to any list component you would not like to keep when duplicating the new list:

      ☑️Viewers & Editors
      ☑️ Checklist Items 
           ☑️ Issues
           ☑️ Assigned Resource(s) 
           ☑️ Related Resource(s) 
           ☑️ Percent Complete
           ☑️ Attachments 
      1. Please note that any Redline pins will not be duplicated, and if you choose to keep any existing Assigned and/or Related Resources, they will be notified via email upon duplication. 
  6. Once you have finalized the duplicated list's details, click the blue "Duplicate" button.
    1. ConstructionOnline™ will automatically populate the duplicated Checklist within the selected destination. 


Streamline project tracking across your business by duplicating the project checklists that are standardized, repetitive, or those similar in a scope. 

Checklists can be duplicated within the Project they were created in, or they can be duplicated to other active ConstructionOnline™ Projects or Project Templates—making standardizing task lists company-wide easy. 

ConstructionOnline™ Company Users can duplicate entire Checklists which includes duplicating all of the list's Items, Item Issues, and Attachments. Alternatively, if you wish to reuse tasks and sub-tasks only, users can duplicate individual Items, and their respective Issues & Attachments, independently. 

However, please note that Item Issues and/or Attachments cannot be duplicated independent of their parent Item. 



  • Permissions: ConstructionOnline™ Company Users must have Checklist permissions set to "Can Create, Edit, & Delete" to duplicate existing lists. 
    • ClientLink™ and TeamLink™ Users cannot duplicate Checklists. 
  • Mobile App: Checklists can be duplicated exclusively via browser access to ConstructionOnline™.
    • Duplication of Checklists is not currently available via the ConstructionOnline™ Mobile App.
