Organize & manage construction tasks with ease using ConstructionOnline's To Do Lists Filters

BACKGROUND

Within the industry-leading software for construction To Do Lists, project tasks can be easily created, managed, and stored in a single, secure location: ConstructionOnline™. Once stored in ConstructionOnline, the information related to construction task lists is easily accessible through many different cutting-edge features and filters. Specifically designed to assist users in quickly finding and organizing their tasks, the Filters widget provides the following eleven filter options that can be used to manage tasks by Date, Due Date Set, Assigned Resource, Priority, Type, Category, Stage, Trade, Tags, Traffic level, and/or Cost Code

STEPS TO FILTER TO DOS

  1. Navigate to the desired Project via the Left Sidebar.
  2. Select the Project Tracking tab to automatically open the To Do Lists category.
  3. Within the To Dos pane in any View, expand the Filters widget by clicking the gray arrow next to the word "Filters".
    1. The Filters widget is located directly beneath the green (+) Add New To Do button. 
  4. Choose your desired Filters from the respective dropdown menus: 
    1. Date: Filters tasks by Date Type & Date Range
      1. ConstructionOnline filters the Date Type to "Due Date" and Date Range to include "All" tasks by default. 
      2. Select one of the preloaded Date Type options from the Date Type dropdown menu. Options include: Due Date, Date Created, and Completed Date.
      3. To select a specific Date Range you can either: 
        1. Select one of the preloaded Date Ranges from the Date Range dropdown menu. Preloaded options include: Custom, Today, Yesterday, Last 30 Days, Last 90 Days, This Month, Last Month, Last Year, Year to Date, and All

          OR

        2. Choose the "Custom" option from the Date Range dropdown menu and select a custom date range by either typing the desired dates into the Start Date and End Date fields or selecting the desired dates from the calendars below.
          1. Dates selected from the calendars will automatically populate to the Start Date and End Date fields. 
      4. Finalize your Date Type & Date Range by clicking the blue "Apply" button. 
    2. Due Date Set: Filters tasks by those that have a Due Date, those that have no Due Date, or All 
      1. ConstructionOnline filters tasks to include "All" tasks, those with and without Due Dates set, by default.
    3. Assigned Resource: Filters tasks by an Assigned Resource 
      1. ConstructionOnline filters tasks to include all Assigned Resources by default.
      2. Choose to filter by tasks by those with no Resource assigned or a specific Assigned Resource Contact.
        1. The Assigned Resource dropdown menu is organized by Contacts that have been assigned to tasks currently in your list and "All Contacts", or those that have not been assigned to a task in your current list. 
      3. Only one Contact can be selected at a time. 
    4. Priority: Filters tasks by assigned Priority level 
      1. ConstructionOnline filters tasks to include "All" Priority levels by default. 
      2. Choose to filter tasks by the following Priority levels: All, None, Low, Medium, or High.
    5. Type: Filters tasks by assigned Type(s)
      1. ConstructionOnline filters tasks to include "All" Types by default. 
      2. Select one or multiple Type Units to filter tasks by from the dropdown list. 
        1. All Type Units—both preloaded and custom—from the Type list populate in the dropdown list.
        2. Type Units can be managed from multiple features within ConstructionOnline.
    6. Category: Filters tasks by assigned Category
      1. ConstructionOnline filters tasks to include "All" Categories by default. 
      2. Select one or multiple Category Units to filter tasks by from the dropdown list. 
        1. All Category Units—both preloaded and custom—from the Category list populate in the dropdown list.
        2. Category Units can be managed from multiple features within ConstructionOnline.
    7. Stage: Filter tasks by assigned Stage(s)
      1. ConstructionOnline filters tasks to include "All" Stages by default. 
      2. Select one or multiple Stage Units to filter tasks by from the dropdown list. 
        1. All Stage Units—both preloaded and custom—from the Stage list populate in the dropdown list.
        2. Stage Units can be managed from multiple features within ConstructionOnline.
    8. Trade: Filter tasks by the assigned Trade(s)
      1. ConstructionOnline filters tasks to include "All" Trades by default. 
      2. Select one or multiple Trade Units to filter tasks by from the dropdown list. 
        1. All Trade Units—both preloaded and custom—from the Trade list populate in the dropdown list.
        2. Trade Units can be managed from multiple features within ConstructionOnline.
    9. Tags: Filter tasks by assigned Tag(s)
      1. ConstructionOnline filters tasks to include "All" Tags by default. 
      2. Select one or multiple Tags to filter tasks by from the dropdown list. 
        1. All Tags—both preloaded and custom—from the Tag list populate in the dropdown list.
        2. Tags can be managed from multiple features within ConstructionOnline.
    10. Traffic: Filter tasks by assigned Traffic level 
      1. ConstructionOnline filters tasks to include "All" Traffic levels by default. 
      2. Choose to filter tasks by the following Traffic levels: All, None, Green, Yellow, or Red.
    11. Cost Code: Filters tasks by the Cost Code attached to the task 
      1. If Cost Codes have been assigned to the Project, you can type the desired Cost Code(s) into the Cost Code field and select them from the dropdown menu to add as a Filter. 
      2. A "Cost codes are not assigned to this project" message will appear within the Cost Code field if Cost Codes have not been assigned to the Project. 
        1. Cost Codes can be assigned through the Project Details modal.
  5. Filters are applied automatically to the To Do List as selected. 
    1. Applied Filters will appear as tags next to the "Filters" heading within the Filters widget. 
      1. To clear individual Filters, click the "X" next to the Filter you wish to remove. 
      2. To clear ALL Filters, click the red "X Clear Filters" button at the top righthand of the widget. 
  6. Click the gray arrow next to the word "Filters" to hide the Filters widget once your choices have been finalized.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION 

  • Filters are user-specific and persist when navigating away from the To Do Lists feature. 
  • Permissions: Any ConstructionOnline Company User with To Do List permissions set to "Can View" or "Can Create, Edit, or Delete" can access To Do List Filter options.
  • ClientLink™/TeamLink™ Access:  ClientLink and TeamLink Users with To Do List permissions enabled can access all To Do List Filter options except the Cost Code filter. 
  • CO™ Mobile App: To Dos can be filtered by Due Date, Priority, Assigned Resource, Trade, Type, Category, and Stage from the Mobile App.
    • Users also have option to show/hide completed To Dos and have various sorting options available from the Mobile App.
