Ensure an accurate, aligned management of project financials and job costs by pulling the total number of hours worked into an Excel spreadsheet
BACKGROUND
As the leading construction management software platform, ConstructionOnline™ equips construction pros with powerful tools to create & manage construction daily logs. Work logs, one of ConstructionOnline's nine specialized daily logs for construction, can track the number of hours worked per day on the job site by members of your project team. The total number of work hours can also be exported as an Excel file, allowing ConstructionOnline™ Company Users to maintain a detailed record of project data or manually import values from ConstructionOnline to another third-party accounting system, like QuickBooks Online.

STEPS TO EXPORT HOURS FROM WORK LOGS TO EXCEL
- Navigate to the desired Project using the Left Sidebar.
- Select the Project Tracking tab, then choose the Daily Logging category.
- Select the Timeline tab found in the upper-right corner of the Daily Logging pane.
- Locate the Hours from Work Logs widget. To view a full breakdown of hours from work logs, click on the gray arrow located next to the words "Hours from Work Logs".
- Click the words "Export to Excel" to initiate the creation of the Excel file.
- Once completed, the exported Excel file can be found in your device's Downloads folder.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
- Hours from work logs are obtained from the work log field "# of Hours".
- Any filters applied to Daily Logs will also apply to the exported Excel file.
- Hours from work logs can also be exported at the company-wide level in addition to the individual project level depicted in the steps above.
- The downloaded Excel file will organize the data into two separate sheets: Hours from Work Logs - All and Hours from Work Logs by Cost Code - All.
- The spreadsheet "Hours from Work Logs - All" organizes work hours by resource. This sheet breaks down each resource's number of work log entries and the total work hours accumulated by the resource.
- The spreadsheet "Hours from Work Logs by Cost Code - All" organizes work hours by cost code. This sheet breaks down the number of work log entries and total work hours by cost code.
- Permissions: Company Users must have Daily Logging permissions set as "Can Create, Edit, & Delete" to export work logs to Excel.
- ClientLink™/TeamLink™ Access: ClientLink & TeamLink Users do not have the option to export hours from work logs, even if they have permission to access Daily Logs.
- Mobile App: Work hours cannot be exported to Excel via the ConstructionOnline™ Mobile App. The option to export hours from work logs is exclusively available through browser access to ConstructionOnline.
ALTERNATIVE ACCESS POINT
- The total work hours for a ConstructionOnline Company Account can also be exported to Excel.
- Navigate to the Company Overview page using the Left Sidebar.
- Select the Project Tracking tab, then select the Daily Logging category.
- Locate the Hours from Work Logs widget, then click the words "Export to Excel" to initiate the creation of the Excel file.
- Once completed, the exported Excel file can be found in your device's Downloads folder.
