Enable Weather Tracking
Set up automatic weather tracking to easily record project weather conditions for construction daily logs
BACKGROUND
ConstructionOnline™, the industry's leading construction management software platform, equips construction pros with powerful Daily Logging tools for capturing detailed records of project activity. ConstructionOnline Company Users can also enable weather tracking, which automatically records the weather for a Project's location 5 times per day. Daily weather summaries make it much easier to account for adverse weather conditions and any subsequent weather delays throughout the Project.
STEPS TO ENABLE WEATHER TRACKING
- Navigate to the desired Project via the Left Sidebar.
- Select the Project Tracking tab, then choose the Daily Logging category.
- Select the Day tab found in the upper-right corner of the Daily Logging pane.
- If weather tracking has not been enabled for the Project, ConstructionOnline will display "Weather tracking not enabled for this project".
- Enter the Project's Zip/Postal Code OR the Latitude & Longitude coordinates.
- Click the Enable Weather Tracking button to begin recording weather conditions.
- Once enabled, weather tracking will begin recording weather conditions from the current date and onward. Weather tracking cannot backlog weather conditions from dates prior to the day of enablement.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
- Weather tracking must be enabled on a per-Project basis––enabling weather tracking on one Project does not enable it for other Projects.
- Weather tracking will record conditions 5 times a day, in 3-hour intervals: 6 AM, 9 AM, 12 PM, 3 PM, and 6 PM. These times cannot be customized.
- Weather tracking entries do not instantly post on the exact hour. It may take a few minutes for the entry to display the recorded conditions.
- Weather tracking entries are only visible in the Timeline and Day views of Daily Logging.
- Weather tracking entries can be quickly hidden from the Timeline view by marking the "Hide Weather Entries" checkbox.
- To change the location used for weather tracking, go to Project Details and edit the Project's zip/postal code OR latitude & longitude coordinates.
- Permissions: Company Users must have Daily Logging permissions set as "Can Create, Edit, & Delete" to enable weather tracking.
- Mobile App: Weather tracking can only be enabled via browser access to ConstructionOnline™. Additionally, weather tracking entries are only accessible via browser access to ConstructionOnline.
