Customize your ConstructionOnline Company Account by setting your Company Employees' permissions.
OBJECTIVE
To set permissions for a new Company Employee in your Company Account.
BACKGROUND
ConstructionOnline empowers construction teams to collaboratively manage construction jobs from start to finish within a single, comprehensive online system. ConstructionOnline Company Admin Users are responsible for the management of the ConstructionOnline Company Account, including setting Company Employee Permissions when a Company Employee is added for the first time.
THINGS TO CONSIDER
- Company Employee Permissions control what Company Employees can see and do with Company Projects in ConstructionOnline.
- Company Employee Permissions are set for the first time during the initial setup of a new Company Employee.
- If permissions are not set during initial setup, the Company Employee will have no access to features within the Company Account.
- Permissions can be set for the following features:
- Files and Photos
- Redline™ Planroom
- Project Tracking
- Financials
- Project Communication
- Calendars & Schedules
- Sales Management
- Company Costbooks
- ClientLink™/TeamLink™
- Access to Redline™ Planroom, RFI Tracking, Submittals, Transmittals, ClientLink™/TeamLink™ Settings, or Change Orders depend on your company's ConstructionOnline subscription level.
The following instructions are a detailed breakdown of Steps 6 & 7 in Add a Company Employee. If you have already finished setting up a Company Employee or are wanting to edit existing Company Employee Permissions, view Managing Company Employee Permissions.
SETTING COMPANY EMPLOYEE PERMISSIONS
Using the dropdown menus and checkboxes, edit the desired level of permissions for each feature.
Should the employee be able to view, upload, edit, or delete files & photos?
- Cannot View: Employee cannot access to Files & Photos added by other Company Employees.
- Can View: Employee can view Files & Photos added by other Company Employees, but cannot modify or remove content added by other Company Employees.
- Can View & Upload: Employee can add new Files & Photos, but cannot modify or remove content added by other Company Employees.
- Can Upload & Edit: Employee can add new Files & Photos, and can modify or share content added by other Company Employees. Employee cannot remove content added by other Company Employees.
- Can Upload, Edit, & Delete: Employee has full access to Files & Photos and can add, upload, edit, or delete content.
Should the employee be able to view, add, update, edit, or delete Redline™ Plans?
- Cannot View Plans: Employee has no access to Redline™ Planroom features or Redline™ Plans.
- Can View Plans: Employee has View-Only access to Redline™ Planroom. Employee cannot add new Plans or markup, modify, and remove Plans added by other Company Employees.
- Can Add & Update Plans: Employee can add new Plans to Redline™ Planroom and employee can markup, modify, or share Plans added by other Company Employees. Employee cannot remove Plans added by other Company Employees.
- Can Add, Update, & Delete Plans: Employee has full access to Redline™ Planroom and can add, markup, share, or remove content.
Should the employee be able to view, create, edit, or delete Daily Logs?
- Cannot View: Employee has no access to Daily Logging features or Daily Logs submitted via ConstructionOnline
- Can Create, Edit, & Delete: Employee has full access to Daily Logging and can view, create, edit, or delete Daily Logs & related content
Should the employee be able to view, create, edit, or delete To Do Lists?
- Cannot View: Employee has no access to To Do Lists.
- Can View: Employee can view To Do Lists, but cannot modify or manage To Do Lists created by other Company Employees.
- Can Create, Edit, & Delete: Employee has complete access to To Do Lists and can add, update, or remove content.
Should the employee be able to view, create, edit, or delete Punch Lists?
- Cannot View: Employee has no access to Punch Lists.
- Can View: Employee can view Punch Lists, but cannot modify or manage Punch Lists created by other Company Employees.
- Can Create, Edit, & Delete: Employee has complete access to Punch Lists and can add, update, or remove content.
Should the employee be able to view, create, edit, or delete Checklists?
- Cannot View: Employee has no access to Checklists.
- Can View: Employee can view Checklists, but cannot modify or manage Checklists created by other Company Employees.
- Can Create, Edit, & Delete: Employee has complete access to Checklists and can add, update, or remove content.
Should the employee be able to view, create, edit, or delete Estimates?
- Cannot View: Employee has no access to Estimates.
- Can View: Employee can view Estimates, but cannot modify or manage Estimates created by other Company Employees.
- Can Create, Edit, & Delete: Employee has complete access to Estimates and can add, update, or remove content.
Should the employee be able to view, create, edit, or delete Client Selections?
- Cannot View: Employee has no access to Client Selections.
- Can View: Employee can view Client Selections, but cannot modify or manage Client Selections created by other Company Employees.
- Can Create, Edit, & Delete: Employee has complete access to Client Selections and can add, update, or remove content.
Should the employee be able to view, create, edit, or delete Change Orders?
- Cannot View: Employee has no access to Change Orders.
- Can View: Employee can view Change Orders, but cannot modify or manage Change Orders created by other Company Employees.
- Can Create, Edit, & Delete: Employee has complete access to Change Orders and can add, update, or remove content.
Should the employee be able to view, create, edit, or delete Invoices?
- Cannot View: Employee has no access to Invoices.
- Can View: Employee can view Invoices, but cannot modify or manage Invoices created by other Company Employees.
- Can Create, Edit, & Delete: Employee has complete access to Invoices and can add, update, or remove content.
Should the employee be able to generate Profitability Reports?
- If checkbox is marked: Employee can generate Profitability Reports.
Should the employee be able to view, create, edit, or delete RFIs?
- Cannot View: Employee has no access to RFIs.
- Can View: Employee can view RFIs, but cannot modify or manage RFIs created by other Company Employees.
- Can Create, Edit, & Delete: Employee has complete access to RFIs and can add, update, or remove content.
Should the employee be able to view, create, edit, or delete Submittals?
- Cannot View: Employee has no access to Submittals.
- Can View: Employee can view Submittals, but cannot modify or manage Submittals created by other Company Employees.
- Can Create, Edit, & Delete: Employee has complete access to Submittals and can add, update, or remove content.
Should the employee be able to view, create, edit, or delete Transmittals?
- Cannot View: Employee has no access to Transmittals.
- Can View: Employee can view Transmittals, but cannot modify or manage Transmittals created by other Company Employees.
- Can Create, Edit, & Delete: Employee has complete access to Transmittals and can add, update, or remove content.
Should the employee be able to view, create, edit, or delete Inbound Emails?
- Cannot View: Employee has no access to Inbound Emails.
- Can View: Employee can view Inbound Emails, but cannot modify or manage Inbound Emails created by other Company Employees.
- Can Create, Edit, & Delete: Employee has complete access to Inbound Emails and can add, update, or remove content.
Should the employee be able to view Company Message Conversations even if they are not added as a recipient?
- If checkbox is marked: Employee can view all Company Message Conversations, even if not explicitly added as a recipient.
Should the employee be able to view, create, edit, or delete Calendar Events?
- Cannot View: Employee has no access to Calendar Events.
- Can View: Employee can view Calendar Events but cannot modify or manage Calendar Events created by other Company Employees.
- Can Create, Edit, & Delete: Employee has complete access to Calendar Events and can add, update, or remove content.
Should the employee be able to view, create, edit, or delete Schedules and Schedule Tasks?
- Cannot View: Employee has no access to Schedules.
- Can View: Employee can view Schedules but cannot modify or manage Schedules created by other Company Employees.
- Can Create, Edit, & Delete: Employee has complete access to Schedules and can add, update, or remove content.
Should the employee be able to view, create, edit, or delete Leads?
- Cannot View: Employee has no access to Leads.
- Can View: Employee can view Leads but cannot modify or manage Leads created by other Company Employees.
- Can Create, Edit, & Delete: Employee has complete access to Leads and can add, update, or remove content.
Should the employee be able to add, edit, or delete company costbooks?
- If checkbox is marked: Employee can add, edit, or delete company costbooks.
Should the employee be able to adjust what ClientLink™ and TeamLink™ users are able to see in their projects?
- If checkbox is marked: Employee can adjust the project viewing capability of ClientLink™ and TeamLink™ users.
