Expand/Collapse a Category or Subcategory

Hide or reveal construction cost estimating data with one click in ConstructionOnline's OnCost™ Estimating

BACKGROUND

ConstructionOnline™ provides the most detailed, comprehensive construction estimating tools in the industry, giving construction teams the ability to manage construction estimating data for any project, from start to finish. To manage and organize over 30 key points of data, ConstructionOnline™ provides Company Users with simple, intuitive features like the Expand/Collapse tool so that Users can hide or reveal construction estimate data quickly, efficiently, and without removing their critical cost data from the Estimate itself.

STEPS TO EXPAND/COLLAPSE ESTIMATE CATEGORIES/SUBCATEGORIES

  1. Navigate to desired Project via the Left Sidebar.
  2. Select the Financials tab to automatically open the Estimating category.
  3. Click the gray triangle next to the any Category/Subcategory to Expand or Collapse the selected Category/Subcategory.
    1. Categories can be Expanded/Collapsed within the Project Totals sheet. Subcategories can be Expanded/Collapsed within individual Category sheets.
    2. When collapsing any Category or Subcategory, all Subcategories and Line Items within the respective Category or Subcategory will collapse; however, the Total row for the Category or Subcategory will remain in view for quick, at-a-glance reference of financial data. 

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

  • Expanding/Collapsing does not remove any data contained within the Project Estimate's, Opportunity Estimate's, or Estimate Template's Category or Subcategory.
  • The Category or Subcategory will remain expanded/collapsed until it is manually altered.
  • Permissions: Company Users who have Estimating Permissions set as "Can View" or "Can Create, Edit, & Delete" can expand/collapse Estimate Categories and Subcategories. 
  • Mobile App: Managing OnCost™ Estimates is exclusively available via browser access to ConstructionOnline™.
