Create Reminders for Warranties

Enable custom reminders for construction warranties in ConstructionOnline™

BACKGROUND 

Warranty reminders in ConstructionOnline offer significant benefits to contractors and owners, helping to streamline the warranty tracking process for all project stakeholders. By setting automated reminders for warranty expirations, coverage type expirations, and upcoming service appointments, contractors can proactively manage warranty obligations, ensuring the timely resolution of warranty issues. This also keeps clients informed about the status of their warranty coverage, minimizing the risk of costly repairs and disputes. 

BEST PRACTICE RECOMMENDATION

To streamline the creation of reminders for individual warranties in ConstructionOnline, we recommend that you complete the initial setup of Reminder Settings within the company's Warranty Settings.  

STEPS TO CREATE REMINDERS FOR WARRANTIES 

A. During Warranty Creation: 

  1. Reminders for individual warranties can be set up during the creation process:
    1.  Create a New Warranty from Scratch
    2. Create a New Warranty from a Template
  2. Once within the "Create Warranty" extension blade that opens on the right side of your screen, navigate to the "Reminders" tab.

  3. From here, you can set up reminders for -
    1. Internal Recipients: Company Users in your ConstructionOnline account.  
      1. For all warranties  
      2. For the specific warranty you have selected
    2. External Recipients: Any Contacts within your ConstructionOnline account. 
      1. For the specific warranty you have selected

        If needed, you can modify the “Warranty Expirations" Email Templates and Automated Reminders that were configured within your Warranty Settings by clicking on the blue “your reminder settings” text.

  4. Set the Reminders by clicking the blue "Save" button. 

ALTERNATIVE ACCESS POINT

B. From an Existing Warranty: 

  1. Navigate to the desired Project via the Left Sidebar.
  2. Locate and select the "Warranty Tracking" tab.
  3. Under "Warranty Details," hover over an existing warranty and either press the blue "Details >" button or simply right-click to select "Edit."

  4. Follow Steps 2-4 from the section above. 

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

  • Subscription Level: ConstructionOnline's Warranty Tracking feature is available for companies with current ConstructionOnline subscriptions at Team, Business, and Enterprise levels.
    • Warranty Tracking is also available as a Per-Company Add-On for all other plans. 
  • Permissions: Admin Users and Company Users with "Can Create & Edit" or “Can Create, Edit, & Delete” permissions are able to create reminders for warranties.
  • CO™ Mobile App: Currently, Warranty Tracking features are exclusively available via browser access to ConstructionOnline.
