Create a New Bid Package Template from Scratch

Build a Bid Package Template within ConstructionOnline™

BACKGROUND

Construction companies frequently bid similar types of work—such as electrical, HVAC, and site work—and each can require the same documents, instructions, bid sheets, and qualified subcontractors. Recreating these elements manually for every project wastes time and increases the risk of errors or inconsistencies.

Bid Package Templates in ConstructionOnline let teams preconfigure common elements for reuse across Projects and Opportunities. By standardizing information, templates reduce setup time, ensure consistency, and let teams focus on evaluating bids and making award decisions rather than on administrative tasks.

HOW TO CREATE A NEW BID PACKAGE TEMPLATE FROM SCRATCH

  1. Access the "Company Overview" tab through the Left Sidebar or the Company Selector in the Top Navigation Bar. 
  2. Under the "Financials" section, select "Bid Tracking."
    1. This will open your "Bid Packages" List. 
  3. Navigate to the "Templates" tab.

  4. Click the green (+) Add New Bid Package Template button.

  5. The "Create A New Bid Package Template" extension blade will open on the right side of your screen, where you can configure Bid Package details that will populate future packages created from the template, including - 
    1. Bid Package details 
    2. Company and Contact information 
    3. Supporting Files and Plans 
    4. Bid Sheets and Bidders

  6. Once all desired information has been entered, press the blue "Save" button to create the Bid Package Template.

⚠️ Important: Bid Package Templates do not send bid invitation emails. 

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION 

  • Subscription Level: Bid Tracking is available for ConstructionOnline accounts with active subscriptions at the Residential Business, Commercial Team and Business, and Multi-Family Team and Business levels. 
  • Permissions: Admin Users and Company Users with "Can Create, Edit, and Delete" permissions for Bid Tracking can create Bid Package Templates. 
  • CO™ Mobile App: The Bid Tracking feature is currently available exclusively via browser access to ConstructionOnline.
