Add Company Header and Footer Settings

Personalize company reports and documents by customizing company-wide header and footer settings

BACKGROUND

ConstructionOnline™ provides users with powerful reports & documents that can be automatically generated from company and project data. For higher levels of customization, companies can also set company-wide headers and footers to appear on reports & documents created in ConstructionOnline. These appear in the top and bottom portions of the pages, respectively, resulting in detailed, professional documentation.

PREREQUISITES

STEPS TO ADD COMPANY HEADER AND FOOTER SETTINGS

 

A. Customize the Default Header and Footer Set

Each ConstructionOnline Company Account can customize the default header and footer set, which will automatically apply to all company reports & documents generated by any Company User within the Company Account. 

  1. Locate the Company Dropdown Menu found in the top right corner of ConstructionOnline.
  2. Under Company Settings, select Header & Footer Settings. This will open the Document Header & Footer Settings window.
    1. If this is your company's first time customizing the default header and footer set, ConstructionOnline will automatically open to the Manage Header/Footer Set module. 
  3. Check the boxes for fields you want to be included and enter the desired information:
    1. Header/Footer Set Name
      1. By default, the name of the set is saved as "Default Report Header", but it can be re-named to best fit your company's needs. 
      2. Please note the set name is for internal use only, and it will not appear anywhere on the actual header/footer.
    2. Header Fields
      1. Company Name: automatically defaults to the Company Name associated with your ConstructionOnline Company account, but can be customized to display any single line of text.
      2. Company Street Address
      3. Email Address
      4. Phone & Website
      5. Company Logo: if your company has already added a company logo for reports & documents, it will appear here.
    3. Footer Fields
      1. Company Name/Custom Text
      2. Page Numbering
      3. Document Creation Date & Time
  4. Click the blue Save button to confirm your customizations to the default header and footer set.

B. Add a new Header & Footer Set

NOTE: This option is only available with Smart Document Branding

  1. Locate the Company Dropdown Menu found in the top right corner of ConstructionOnline.
  2. Under Company Settings, select Header & Footer Settings. This will open the Document Header & Footer Settings window.
  3. Click the green "Create New Header/Footer Set" button.
  4. Check the boxes for fields you want to be included and enter the desired information:
    1. Header/Footer Set Name
      1. Enter the desired name for the header and footer set. 
      2. Please note the set name is for internal use only, and it will not appear anywhere on the actual header/footer.
    2. Header Fields
      1. Company Name: automatically defaults to the Company Name associated with your ConstructionOnline Company account, but can be customized to display any single line of text.
      2. Company Street Address
      3. Email Address
      4. Phone & Website
      5. Company Logo: if your company has already added a company logo for reports & documents, it will appear here.
    3. Footer Fields
      1. Company Name/Custom Text
      2. Page Numbering
      3. Document Creation Date & Time
  5. Click the blue Save button.
  6. Locate the newly created header and footer set. Within the "Usage Parameters" column for the specific set, use the dropdown menus to customize the usage parameters for the set. 
    1. The first dropdown menu contains a list of your company's available fields, such as Project Type and Project Stage. 
    2. Once a field has been selected from the first dropdown menu, ConstructionOnline will automatically load the options for that specific field in the second dropdown menu.
  7. Click the blue Save button to finalize your customizations. 

 

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

  • Permissions: Only Company Admin Users have permission to customize company-wide headers and footer settings.
  • Headers are only visible on the top of the first page of the report or document.
  • Footers are visible on the bottom of every page of the report or document. 
  • Users can make one-time adjustments to headers and footers in generated reports or documents using ConstructionOnline's TXEditor.
  • Mobile App: Header and footer settings cannot be accessed from the ConstructionOnline Mobile App.
