Expand your ConstructionOnline™ Company Directory by adding Companies
BACKGROUND
Efficient construction management hinges on having a centralized and readily accessible company directory. You shouldn't have to chase down these details across multiple spreadsheets or disparate contact lists. ConstructionOnline's "Contacts & Companies" solves this by providing a single, organized directory for all your vital partners and stakeholders. This system eliminates redundancy and gives you a clear overview of your professional network, simplifying engagement with all the right people.
THINGS TO CONSIDER
Within ConstructionOnline, any field that shows the gear icon
is a Custom Value, allowing users to add, edit, or remove categories. These fields can be customized by clicking on the icon.
HOW TO ADD A NEW COMPANY
- Access the "Team Management" tab through the Left Sidebar or the Company Selector in the Top Navigation Bar.
- Under the "Contacts & Companies" section, select "Companies."
- This will open the "Companies" portion of your Company Directory.
- Click the green (+) Add New Company button.
- The "Create a New Company" extension blade will open on the right side of your screen, where you can enter the Company's information, including -
- Details: General information about the Company.
- Company Name: The Company's name. This field is required.
- Street Address: The address where the Company is located.
- City: The city.
- State / Province: The state.
- Zip / Postal: The zip code/postal code associated with the Company's address.
- Country: The country.
- ConstructionOnline, by default, will populate the Country set in your Account's Settings under the "Country & Language" option.
- Phone: The main telephone number for communication with the Company.
- Email: The primary email address for the Company.
- Website: If the Company has a web address (URL), enter it here.
- Trade: The specific industry or type of business the Company is involved in.
- Quality: The internal quality rating score for the Company.
- Category: Classify the Company by assigning them to a category for organizational purposes.
- Division: If the Company is a large organization with distinct operational units, this field can be used to specify the relevant division.
- Region: The geographical area which the Company primarily operates or serves.
- Group: Categorize the Company for further organization.
- Office: If the Company has multiple physical locations, this field can be used to specify the name or identifier of this particular office.
- Tags: Assign any predefined keywords or labels to the Company.
- By using Tags in ConstructionOnline, you can easily sort and track information within the system.
- Employer Identification Number: The unique nine-digit number assigned to the Company by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) to identify the Company as a business entity for tax purposes.
- License Number: The Company's primary legal operating license number.
- Labor Type: The type of labor the Company employs or provides.
- Labor Union Name: If the Company is a part of a Union, this field can be used to specify which one.
- Notes: Any additional relevant information regarding the Company.
- Contacts: Associate Contact(s) with the Company.
- Attachments: Upload any files and/or photos pertinent to the Company.
- Details: General information about the Company.
- Click the blue "Create" button to create the new Company.
- Once saved, the Company will appear in the "Companies" List as part of the dynamic table.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
- Subscription Level: The Company Directory is available for all ConstructionOnline subscriptions.
- Permissions: Admin Users and Company Users can create Companies.
- CO™ Mobile App: Company Users can create new Companies via the ConstructionOnline Mobile App.
