Edit Files

OBJECTIVE

To Edit a File in ConstructionOnline™

BACKGROUND

File management is critical for any business as it helps track your project's progress and helps protect against possible litigation. With ConstructionOnline, this task is made exponentially easier, allowing you to keep your entire team up to speed and on track.  Editing Files in ConstructionOnline is a valuable way to save time when making changes to a document and to share information easily.

THINGS TO CONSIDER

  • Administrators and Company Users with permission are able to Edit files.
  • Edited files can be downloaded, printed and shared via Email or by uploading to an Integrated Cloud Storage.

STEPS TO EDIT FILES

  1. Navigate to Company Files, My Files, or a Project via the Left Sidebar
    1. Select the Files tab if you're in a Project
  2. Right-click on the File
  3. Select Edit File from the dropdown menu 
    1. The File will open in a new tab
  4. Enter your desired changes
    1. Note: To expand the editor toolbar for more editing options, select Show Full Toolbar from the top right of the Mini Bar
  5. Click on Files at the top left of the page
  6. Select Save As from the dropdown menu

    1. This will open the Save to ConstructionOnline window
  7. Name the file, select the File Type, and Destination to save it to
  8. Click Save

TIPS AND TRICKS

  • If your report or document does not open, make sure your browser is not blocking pop-up windows from ConstructionOnline
