Delete an Estimate

Remove an existing construction estimate from a Project, Project Template, or Opportunity in ConstructionOnline™

BACKGROUND

ConstructionOnline's industry-leading construction estimating software helps construction pros protect their bottom line with detailed construction cost estimates and professional, print-ready construction contracts. With multiple methods of estimate creation, ConstructionOnline™ Company Users can easily build comprehensive estimates to track project costs from start to finish––ensuring profitability is maintained throughout the entire scope of the project. However, to add a new Estimate to a project that already has an existing Estimate, Company Users must first delete the existing Estimate. 

STEPS TO DELETE AN ESTIMATE

  1. Navigate to the desired Project via the Left Sidebar.
  2. Select the Financials tab to automatically open the Estimating category. 
  3. Click on the gray three dot menu 3-dot action menu icon located in the top right corner of the Estimate.
  4. Select the option Delete Estimate.
  5. Click the red Delete button to confirm your decision to delete the Estimate. Please note that this action cannot be undone!
    1. Remember: any existing allowances for Change Orders or Selections will not be removed after the Estimate is deleted. 

ALTERNATIVE ACCESS POINTS

  • Estimates can also be deleted from Project Templates and Opportunities
    • Project Template
      1. Navigate to the Company Overview page using the Left Sidebar
      2. Select the Company Projects tab, then choose the Templates category. 
      3. Locate the desired Project Template. 
      4. Right-click the Project Template, then select the option Manage Template Contents.
      5. Follow steps 2 - 5 as listed above. 
    • Opportunity 
      1. Navigate to Opportunities via the Left Sidebar
      2. Locate the desired Opportunity. 
      3. Right-click the Opportunity, then select the option Manage Content
      4. Follow steps 2 - 5 as listed above. 

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

  • As a reminder, each Project, Project Template, or Opportunity can only have ONE Estimate at a time.
  • Permissions: Company Users must have Estimating permissions set as "Can Create, Edit, & Delete" to delete an Estimate. 
  • If an Estimate is deleted, the Company History Log will record the name of the Company User and the name of the deleted Estimate, along with the exact time and date of the deletion.
  • Mobile App: Deleting an Estimate is only available via browser access to ConstructionOnline. Estimates are only available in View-Only Mode in the ConstructionOnline Mobile App.
