Remove a Lead from your ConstructionOnline™ Company Account
BACKGROUND
In construction, effectively managing your pipeline of potential clients (Leads) is vital. While retaining data for historical insights is often beneficial, there are times when a construction company may choose to delete a Lead. This could be due to a Lead no longer being relevant, a mistaken entry, or a clear non-fit for your services. Deleting such entries helps maintain a clean, accurate database, improving the efficiency of your sales and marketing efforts by allowing you to focus on genuine prospects and ensuring data hygiene. ConstructionOnline understands the need for flexible lead management, which is why it provides the functionality to delete Leads, empowering you to maintain an organized and relevant Lead Pipeline.
THINGS TO CONSIDER
⚠️ Important: Deleted Leads cannot be recovered!
- Only Admin Users and Company Users with "Can Create, Edit, & Delete" permissions for Lead Tracking can delete existing Leads.
- Within ConstructionOnline, any field that shows the gear icon
is a Custom Value, allowing users to add, edit, or remove categories. These fields can be customized by clicking on the icon.
BEST PRACTICE RECOMMENDATION
If you believe you might need a Lead's data in the future - whether for historical context, reporting, or because they could become a repeat customer - we strongly recommend against deleting that Lead. While ConstructionOnline doesn't have an "archive" option for Leads, you can effectively organize your pipeline by using the "Lead Details" fields as well as the feature's filtering capabilities. Here's how:
- Leverage the "Status" field: For Leads that are no longer active, we recommend setting their Status to "Inactive," "Closed - Lost," or "Closed - Won." This allows you to retain historical data without cluttering your active pipeline.
- Filter Your Pipeline: To keep your focus on current potential clients, filter your Lead Pipeline to display only "Open" Leads. This creates a clean, manageable view of your prospects.
- Customize Other Fields: Many users also find it beneficial to use the Custom Value fields, such as "Stage," to reflect their specific sales process.
By strategically using these fields and filtering options, you can ensure your Lead Pipeline accurately reflects your current opportunities while still preserving valuable historical data.
🗒️ Note: Filters applied to your Lead Pipeline are user-specific and do not affect other team members' views.
