Create a Warranty Template from an Existing Warranty

Save an existing project warranty as a reusable warranty template

BACKGROUND 

ConstructionOnline™ empowers Users to streamline warranty management by enabling the creation of warranty templates directly from existing warranties. Contractors frequently offer the same or similar warranty coverage across projects that are alike in type and/or scope. This feature significantly enhances efficiency by eliminating the need to manually re-enter repetitive information. By simply selecting an existing warranty and creating a new template, contractors can maintain consistency and accuracy across projects. 

STEPS TO CREATE A WARRANTY TEMPLATE FROM AN EXISTING WARRANTY

1. Navigate to the desired Project via the Left Sidebar.
2. Locate and select the "Warranty Tracking" tab. 
   1. If you have chosen to have Warranty Tracking appear as a Project Quick Link, you may also access the Warranty Tracking feature from the Project's "Overview" tab. 
3. Under the "Warranty Details" section, hover over the desired Warranty and right-click. 
   1. A warranty must be created within your account before you are able to create a template from a warranty. 
4. Choose "Create Template From Warranty" from the dropdown menu. 
   
5. This will open the "New Template" extension blade on the right side of your screen where you can edit any of the
   Warranty Details and/or Additional Information.
   1. Refer to "Create a New Warranty from a Template" to find out about which warranty fields cannot be saved within a template.
6. Hit the blue "Save" button to create the warranty template for later use. 

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

• Alternative Access Point: A warranty template may also be created from an existing warranty within the “Warranty Tracking” tab of the Company Overview. 
• Templates in ConstructionOnline are a companywide feature, giving all Company Users with the appropriate permissions access to saved warranty templates.
• Subscription Level: ConstructionOnline's Warranty Tracking feature is available for companies with current ConstructionOnline subscriptions at Team, Business, and Enterprise levels.
  • Warranty Tracking is also available as a Per-Company Add-On for all other plans. 
• Permissions: Admin Users and Company Users with "Can Create & Edit" or “Can Create, Edit, & Delete” permissions for Warranty Tracking can create warranty templates.
• CO™ Mobile App: Currently, Warranty Tracking features are exclusively available via browser access to ConstructionOnline.
