Comments enable project-specific, permission-based communication directly within several of ConstructionOnline's most commonly used tools. Whether you're discussing a client's material selections or collaborating on daily jobsite updates, Comments ensure that every conversation stays connected to the relevant work—boosting transparency, accountability, and productivity across your project teams.

  • Comments allow every Project Team Contact—including Company Users, ClientLink™ Contacts, and TeamLink™ Contacts—to engage in focused, feature-specific discussions. With segmented threads and visibility controls based on user roles, everyone can contribute without overwhelming others with irrelevant details.
    
    By centralizing communication within the tools your team already uses, Comments ensure that conversations happen in real time and in the right place, which eliminates confusion, reduces delays, and keeps collaboration moving forward. 
• Segmented Threads & Permission-Based Visibility
  • To keep conversations organized and secure, access to Comments is governed by the permissions set for each related feature and is divided into three thread types: 
    
    
    
    • ClientLink User: Visible to Company & ClientLink Users
    • Company User: Visible to Company, ClientLink, & TeamLink Users 
    • TeamLink User: Visible to Company & TeamLink Users (content varies based on individual permissions) 
    The "Add New Comment" section dynamically displays icons for all eligible users based on their project role and permissions, making it easy to tag teammates and connect with stakeholders who need to stay informed. 

• Visual Alerts & Notification Tools
  
  • Stay in the know with multiple visibility tools built into the platform:
    • Unread Comment Indicators: Color-coded Comment icons (blue or green) draw attention to new activity. 
    • Comment Counters: Display the number of Comments visible to each user. 
    • Top Navigation Bar Alerts: Comments trigger real-time alerts through the bell icon notification center. 
    • My Agenda Comments Widget: Surfaces the latest Comments from your active projects directly on your dashboard. 
    • Latest News / Help & Support Extension Blade: View new Comments under the "Comments" tab. 
    These tools help users stay updated without digging through emails or multiple project pages. 

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

• Subscription Level: ConstructionOnline's Comments are available for all ConstructionOnline Company Accounts with an active subscription that includes access to the associated tool (e.g., Daily Logging, Client Selections, etc.). 
•  CO™ Mobile App: Comments are currently exclusively available via browser access to ConstructionOnline.
