CO Mobile extends the power of ConstructionOnline to the field, giving teams fast, reliable access to the tools and information that keep projects moving. Built for real-time coordination, the mobile app supports the on-site work that drives schedules forward and connects office and field teams in one unified platform.
Mobile applications introduce unique considerations for performance, compatibility, and connectivity. Devices vary in operating systems, hardware, storage behavior, and network environments—each of which can influence app performance. Understanding these requirements and best practices ensures a stable, optimized mobile experience across diverse jobsite conditions.
User Access & Account Requirements
ConstructionOnline Mobile is designed for Company, ClientLink™, and TeamLink™ Users. Access is governed by permissions set within browser access to ConstructionOnline, so what a user can view or edit may vary based on their role and Project Settings.
⚠️ Important: ClientLink and TeamLink accounts must be created and configured in ConstructionOnline (desktop) before logging into the mobile app. Users should not attempt to create these account types directly from the app.
Supported Platforms & Operating Systems
- Minimum Supported: iOS 15.5
- Recommended: iOS 17 or higher
- Not Compatible: iOS 17.4 and iOS 17.5
- Supported Device Types: iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch devices capable of running iOS 15.5 or later
- While devices newer than iPhone 6s meet the minimum iOS requirements, iPhone 8 or later is recommended for best performance
Android
- Minimum Supported: Android 8.0
- Recommended: Android 13 or higher
- Supported Device Types: 16K+ devices as listed by Google Play, provided they run Android 8.0 or later
- No excluded devices beyond OS limitations

Hardware Recommendations
- RAM: Minimum 2 GB recommended
- Processor: Dependent on device; no software-specific requirements
- Display / Screen Size: Fully supported across phone and tablet sizes
App Size & Storage
- App Size: ~50-60 MB (iOS and Android)
- Recommended Free Storage: At least 500 MB for cached data, plans, photos, and file downloads
🗒️ Note: This cached data is managed by the app and can be cleared from within the app's settings.
Network Requirements
ConstructionOnline Mobile requires an active internet connection.
- Offline Access: Not supported
- Minimum Network Quality: While 3G connection may function, we recommend using 4 G / LTE or higher to ensure consistent performance
- Preferred Connectivity: Wi-Fi or 5G
Device Permissions Used
Location
- While Using the App:
CO Mobile may request location access while the app is open for:- Camera Geotags: Attaches location information to media captured in the app for accurate Project documentation

- Clocking-In/Out: Records the user's location when submitting time entries
- Always (Background Location)
Background access supports ongoing location-based functionality, including:
- Geofence Notifications: Detects when a user enters or exits a Project location and sends a prompt to clock in/out
- Time Tracking Location Records: Periodically logs location data for accurate, continuous time tracking
🗒️ Note: Enabling "Always" (background) location access also supports all capabilities listed under While Using the App.
Physical Activity (Android) / Motion (iOS)
- Used for geofencing accuracy for location-based features
Camera & Photos
- Camera: For capturing photos and videos in the app
- Camera Roll: For selecting existing media from device
- File / Storage Permissions:
- File Picker: For selecting files for upload
- Caching files: For storing files for faster access and upload
- Downloading files: For offline viewing
Microphone
- Required for video recording
Notifications
- Push notifications for updates, tasks, communication, and Project activity
Account & Licensing Requirements
- Subscription: Users must have an active ConstructionOnline subscription. Access to app features depends on the subscription level
- User Type: Must be an active Company, ClientLink, or Teamlink User to log in.
- Users who have been deactivated, cannot log in or access Project data
- User permissions and visibility in the app are governed by settings in ConstructionOnline (desktop)
Language & Regions
- Supported UI Languages: English, Spanish
- Global Availability: Distributed worldwide wherever Apple App Store and Google Play Store are available
Version & Support Policy
- Older versions: Users unable to update devices may continue to run older versions. However, these versions receive no ongoing support and may experience disruptions due to API or platform changes
- Updates: Strongly recommended that users update when possible to maintain compatibility and performance
- In-app popups may be used to notify users of critical updates
CO Mobile Troubleshooting Checklist
Before contacting support, confirm the following:

- Latest version of ConstructionOnline Mobile installed

- Logout → Reinstall → Login
- Clear app data
