Rename a Cost Code List

OBJECTIVE

To rename a Cost Code List in ConstructionOnline

BACKGROUND

ConstructionOnline's Cost Code system ties numerous features together based on the type of work being completed. It boosts visibility for each division cost and allows you to stay organized and informed throughout the construction process.

THINGS TO CONSIDER

  • Thirteen features are tied to Cost Codes in ConstructionOnline: To-dos, Daily Logging, Punch Lists, Checklists, Estimating, Client Selections, Change Orders, Invoices, RFIs, Submittals, Transmittals, Calendar Events, and Schedule Tasks.
  •  You cannot make changes to the CSI or NAHB Cost Code Lists
  • Only Admins are allowed to access the Cost Code Page.
  • Cost Codes cannot be used until they are assigned to a Project.

STEPS TO EDIT A COST CODE LIST

  1. Navigate to the Company Dropdown Menu at the top right corner of the page
  2. Select Company Cost Codes under Financial Settings
     
    1. This will open the Cost Codes page
  3. Right-click the Cost Code List, or click the gray Three Dot Action menu to the right of it
  4. Choose Edit List from the dropdown menu
     
    1. This will open the Edit Cost Code List window
  5. Make desired changes
  6. Click Save
