Bid Tracking Status Guide

Understand and monitor the status of your Bid Packages in ConstructionOnline™

BACKGROUND 

Tracking bid submissions and award decisions is essential for meeting deadlines, maintaining visibility, and selecting qualified subcontractors and vendors. ConstructionOnline's Bid Tracking feature automatically updates each Bid Package's status, giving teams a real-time view of bid progress. 

Each Bid Package contains one or more Bid Sheets. The package status is determined by the submission deadline and the bidding activity across all included sheets. 

BID PACKAGE STATUSES 

🔵 Open:

The submission deadline is still in the future. Bid Packages remain in this status until the deadline, regardless of whether bids have been submitted. 

🔵 Reviewing Bids:

The submission deadline has passed, and every Bid Sheet has received at least one bid. The package is ready for review and award. 

🟢 Awarded:

A winning bid has been assigned to every Bid Sheet. Once all sheets are awarded, the Bid Package is considered complete—even if the original deadline has not yet passed. 

🟡 Deadline Passed:

The submission deadline has passed, but one or more Bid Sheets have no submitted bids, or no Bid Sheets exist. This status indicates an incomplete Bid Package. 


BEST PRACTICES FOR BID TRACKING

  • Finalize Bid Package and Bid Sheet details before sending invitations to ensure a smooth bidding process.
  • Monitor Bid Package statuses regularly to maintain visibility and keep bids moving forward. 
  • Maintain clear communication with Bidders throughout the bidding period to support complete and timely submissions. 
  • Review all submitted bids carefully to make confident, well-informed award decisions. 
  • Award bids thoughtfully to set clear expectations and build strong, lasting relationships with subcontractors and vendors.  

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION 

  • Subscription Level: Bid Tracking is available for ConstructionOnline accounts with active subscriptions at the Residential Business, Commercial Team and Business, and Multi-Family Team and Business levels. 
  • CO™ Mobile App: The Bid Tracking feature is currently available exclusively via browser access to ConstructionOnline.
