Add a New Comment in ConstructionOnline™

Streamline communication with contextual comments

BACKGROUND

ConstructionOnline's Comments help project teams maintain clear, focused discussions by typing conversations directly to the work at hand. Whether you're reviewing progress in a Daily Log entry, requesting clarification on a Client Selection, or finalizing details in a Change Order, Comments ensure communication is contextual, centralized, and permission-based.

THINGS TO CONSIDER

  • Comments are available across multiple ConstructionOnline features. For a complete list of supported features, see "Overview: Comments in ConstructionOnline."
  • Access to Comments is contingent upon your current ConstructionOnline subscription and the inclusion of each specific feature.
  • Users can only access or interact with Comments if they have the appropriate feature-level permissions and visibility to the specific Comment Thread.
  • Comments can only be added after the initial record (log, selection, or change order) has been created.
  • Comments are segmented by role—Company User, ClientLink Contact, and TeamLink Contact—to ensure secure and relevant communication.

HOW TO ADD A NEW COMMENT

  1. Navigate to the relevant feature within your ConstructionOnline account (e.g., Daily Logging, Client Selections).
  2. Hover over the record where you would like to post a comment (such as a log entry or selection choice).
  3. Locate and click the Comment icon for that record to open the "Comments Thread" window.
