Create an estimate subcategory

Add a new estimate subcategory to an existing project estimate in your ConstructionOnline company account

 post https://api.constructiononline.com/api/EstimateSubCategories?catID={catID}&subcategoryInfo={subcategoryInfo}

This endpoint allows users to create a new estimate subcategory for an existing estimate in their ConstructionOnline company account. The estimate subcategory must be created for a specific estimate category within an existing estimate. If an estimate category ID is not included in the URL of the request, the estimate subcategory will fail to create.

The new estimate subcategory will be automatically assigned a unique numerical ID called 'ID', which will be used for any future references. Users should enter the properties for creation in the URL of the request—specifically, in the "subcategoryInfo" request parameter. The only required property for creation is NAME; all other properties are optional and can be entered during subcategory creation or updated at a later time. If successful, the endpoint will return a record of the newly created estimate subcategory with the included properties.

Requests

catID: integer

  • Unique identifier for the estimate category. This is required for creation.

subcategoryInfo: JSON

  • Properties to be added to the estimate subcategory.
  • Allowed properties: NAME (required), DESCRIPTION, ROW_NUMBER, COST_CODE, CLASSIFICATION, STATUS, COST_ESTIMATE, LINE_ITEM_MARKUP, COMMITTED_COSTS, INVOICED_AMOUNTS, ACTUAL, RATE, RATE_QTY, LINE_ITEM_MARKUP_TYPE, ADJUSTMENT, FIVE_COLUMN_EQUIPMENT, FIVE_COLUMN_LABOR, FIVE_COLUMN_MATERIAL, FIVE_COLUMN_OTHER, FIVE_COLUMN_SUB, UNIT_NAME, QB_ACTUAL, QB_COMMITTED, QB_INVOICED
